When in Rio Lagartos, I stay at the Faro Hotel. It is directly on the shore of the lagoon. It has several rooms, and all have access to the balcony at the front, but the first room is the best, with direct access to the balcony and a view of the lagoon. No website. Tel 01-9868620639

Another place to stay in Rio Lagartos is Ria Maya Lodge, which is located right on the waterfront.
Located right above the Ria Maya restaurant. We have eaten there and testified that it is the best restaurant in town.
The owner of this restaurant is also the best guide for birding in the lagoon. (see the guides page)
